Mister Milford have been working in the property development space from the very beginning, founder Adam Niewand has a long track record of working in the industry. Seeing the life span of a development through from beginning to end is a thrill that we just love.

At the phase of construction where all elements of the structural build are complete, a ceremony is held in recognition.

The practise of ‘topping out’ a new building can be traced to the ancient Scandinavian tradition of placing a tree on the top of a new building to appease spirits that had been displaced. These days, a ceremony is often held to commemorate this milestone in the construction of a building and involves placing an evergreen tree upon the new structure to symbolise growth and to bring good luck. A smoking ceremony takes place by an elder from land on which the site has been constructed, an acknowledgment and welcome to country as well as a number of insights from those involved in the project to date.

This Topping Out ceremony was for the Mirvac development, St Leonards Square in St Leonards, Sydney.
